This project explores the relationship between content, concept, form, and 'matter' in artists' books. It highlights how material choices—such as paper, binding, format, and typography—not only convey meaning but also shape the reader's experience and interpretation. Emphasizing ‘matter' appreciation, the project argues that form should serve a communicative function rather than act merely as decoration, acknowledging how readers often 'judge a book by its cover' before engaging with its content.
